New China Tour Itineraries

Sorry about the lack of recent posts. I was having trouble with my WordPress account, but now everything is fixed so we can get on with the show!

We recently released a couple new tour itineraries for November and December with land only prices starting at $399. These are special rates that include airfare, hotel, and tour fees.  Jump the cut to see details.

The Great Wall of China (Tours B8RE and B8SE)

We currently have 4 itineraries up:

Shanghai's Bund

8 Days 6 Nights Classic Highlights Tour (B8RE)
Departs 11/14 ($699*) and 12/08 ($659*)
Land Only $399

Day 1: USA-Shanghai
Depart from one of our West Coast gateway cities for Shanghai.

Day 2: Shanghai-Jiashan
Arrive in Shanghai and transfer to your hotel in the nearby city of Jiashan.

Day 3: Jiashan-Shaoxing
Bus to China’s wine city, Shaoxing. Sights include the Hangzhou Bay Bridge, East Lake, and Shen Garden.


Day 4: Shaoxing-Hangzhou
Bus to Hangzhou. Visit the beautiful West Lake and a typical Chinese teahouse.

Day 5: Hangzhou-Suzhou-Wuxi
Visit China’s “garden city,” Suzhou. Sights include Hanshan Temple and a silk weaving workshop. Continue the tour to the city of Wuxi, where you visit Luyuan Garden.

Day 6: Wuxi-Shanghai
Return to Shanghai for a tour of the Old Town and the Bund. The rest of the day is free.

Day 7: Shanghai
Today is a free day to explore the city on your own.

Day 8: Shanghai-USA
Time to go home from your China adventure.

The Forbidden City in Winter

8 Days 6 Nights Classic Highlights Tour (B8SE)
Departs 11/16 ($899*), 12/06 ($899*)
Land Only $699

Day 1: USA-Beijing
Depart from one of our West Coast gateways for China’s capital, Beijing.

Day 2: Beijing
Arrive in Beijing and transfer to your hotel.

Day 3: Beijing-Chengde-Beijing
Take a bus ride to the city of Chengde, known for it’s imperial resorts. Visit the Chengde Summer Palace. Return to Beijing.

Day 4: Beijing-Tianjin-Beijing
Ride the high speed railway from Beijing to nearby Tianjin. Tour the Old Town and the “Tranquil Garden.” Continue your tour to the East Tombs, the largest imperial tombs in China. Return to Beijing, where dinner is the famed Peking Duck.

Day 5: Beijing
The city tour begins at the Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City. Afterwards, pass by the National Stadium, known colloquially as the Bird’s Nest.

Day 6: Beijing-Shanghai
Fly to Shanghai. Sightseeing upon arrival includes the Old Town and the Bund.

Day 7: Shanghai
You have a free day to explore Shanghai. You can also choose to take our optional tour to Suzhou and Wuxi.

Day 8: Shanghai-USA
Board your flight back to the USA.

9 Day 7 Nights Classic Highlight Tour (B9AE)
Departs 11/11 ($899**), 11/23 ($819**), 12/09 ($819**)
$200 for Late Return

Day 1: USA-Shanghai
Depart for Shanghai from one of our West Coast gateway cities.

Day 2: Shanghai
Arrive in Shanghai, where your professional tour guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel.


Day 3: Shanghai
Sightseeing includes the Old Town and the Bund. The rest of the day is on your own.

Day 4: Shanghai
Today is a free day for you to explore Shanghai’s many sights. Or you can take an optional tour to Suzhou and Wuxi.

Day 5:  Shanghai-Beijing
Spend the morning on your own before flying to Beijing. You have the rest of the day on your own.

Day 6: Beijing
Begin your city tour at Tiananmen Square.
Continue to the Palace Museum, known as the Forbidden City. After lunch, visit the Summer Palace, famous for it’s half mile long corridor and Marble Boat.

Day 7: Beijing
Today you get to climb the Great Wall of China. Afterwards, pass by the National Stadium, colloquially known as the Bird’s Nest. Dinner tonight is Peking Duck.

Day 8: Beijing-Shanghai
Fly back to Shanghai, where you’ll have the day to yourself.

Day 9: Shanghai-USA
Board your flight back home to the United States.

The Yangtze River

13 Days 11 Nights China Highlights and Yangtze River Cruise (BU13E)
Departs 11/12 ($2,159***)

Day 1: USA-Shanghai-Xi’an
Depart from the US to Shanghai, where you will connect to Xi’an.

Day 2: Xi’an
Your tour guide will meet you at the airport and bring you to your hotel.

Day 3: Xi’an
Sightseeing today includes the Shaanxi History Museum. Tonight, enjoy an optional Tang Dynasty stage show.

Day 4: Xi’an
Spend the day exploring on your own or take our optional tour to the Qianling Mausoleum.

Day 5: Xi’an-Wuhan
Today you visit the famed Terra Cotta Warriors before flying to the city of Wuhan.

Day 6: Wuhan
Visit the Hubei Provincial Museum before transferring to your luxurious Victoria Cruises ship.

Day 7: Cruising Along the Yangtze River
This morning you visit the Three Gorges Dam. Return to the ship for the rest of the day.

Day 8: Cruising Along the Yangtze River
Disembark at Wushan and board a motorboat to tour the Three Lesser Gorges. Then sail through the Wu and Qutang Gorges.

Day 9:  Cruising Along the Yangtze River
Disembark for a tour of the “City of Ghosts,” Fengdu. Tonight join the captain for a farewell dinner.

Day 10: Yangtze River-Chongqing-Dazu
Arrive in Chongqing and transfer to Dazu. Visit the well known Dazu Rock Carvings before enjoying a dinner of Sichuan cuisine.

Day 11: Chongqing-Shanghai
Fly back to Shanghai in the morning. Upon arrival, visit Shanghai’s Old Town and the Bund before enjoying some local cuisine for dinner.

Day 12: Shanghai
Visit the famed Shanghai Museum. Enjoy the rest of the day on your own.

Day 13: Shanghai-USA
Fly back home to the United States.

    • It’s not hard to get a visa to China. You have to go to the Chinese consulate in your area and apply. There’s a form to fill out and you have to submit a passport photos, your travel documents, and a valid passport (it should be valid for at least 6 months). There is a fee of $130 for US citizens; it allows you multiple entries into China up to 24 months, but you can choose. For citizens of other countries (I’m assuming you’re from the Ukraine?) the fees are different and if you want a multiple entry visa the prices vary. The tourist visa (L) allows to you stay in China for 30 days at a time.
